REGENTS

Regents are a set of examinations conducted in core high school subjects for students aspiring for a Regents Diploma.The exams are typically offered for college bound and non-disabled students.To graduate, students are required to have earned appropriate credits in a number of specific subjects by passing year-long or half-year courses, after which they must pass Regents examinations in some of the subject areas.

Format

The reagent exam is conducted in the following categrories 

Social Studies
Global History and Geography
United States History and Government
English Language Arts: Comprehensive English
Mathematics
Integrated Algebra
Geometry
Algebra 2 and Trigonometry
Science
Earth Science/The Physical Setting
Biology/The Living Environment
Chemistry/The Physical Setting
Physics/The Physical Setting

*Exam requirement 

To graduate with a Regents Diploma, students must, among other requirements, pass with score of 65 or higher on five Regents exams:
Global History and Geography;
U.S. History and Government;
Comprehensive English;
Any one math exam (usually Integrated Algebra);
Any one science exam (usually Earth Science or Living Environment/Biology).

Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation exam requirements

To receive an Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation, among other requirements, students must pass with a score of 65 or higher on the following Regents exams:
Global History and Geography;
U.S History and Government;
Comprehensive English;
All three mathematics exams;
Two science exams, including Living Environment.
