TAKS TEKS

Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills test (TAKS) had been used in public schools mostly in Texas to assess student learning and competency.The examination is conducted online by Pearson Educational Measurement with close supervision by the Texas Education Agency.*From 2012 to 2014, the test has been phased out and replaced by the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) test in accordance with to Texas Senate Bill 1031

Format 

The TAKS exam consist of four sections

1. Reading (grades 3-9)
2. Writing (grades 4 and 7)
3. English language arts (grades 10 and 11)
4. Mathematics (grades 3-11)
5. Science (grades 5, 10, and 11)
6. Social Studies (grades 8, 10, 11)
